Guided and Self-guided Cycling Tours

Sea Spray offers in customized single-day guided and self-guided bicycle touring for all ages and abilities at the northern tip of Cape Breton.  We’ll also help self-guided cyclists plan their way around the Trail, or plan out day trips for cycling the best parts, with van support if desired.

Sea Spray’s staff is at home on the roads and trails of this beautiful area, so we are able to match our guided and self-guided tours to our clients' specific fitness levels and areas of interest both on-road or off-road, along the shoreline or through the mountains. 

We believe that tours should be easily accessed, so we offer our guided tours on a “two-person” minimum basis.  This means that two adults can initiate a guided tour, making our tours ideal for couples and families.  This also often means that a couple or one family could easily end up with a “private tour” should there be no other clients at that time. 

Our most popular “gentle” cycling tour, a half-day coastal "Atlantic Fishery " tour, combines easy level touring along harbours and ocean with our guides’ on-going explanation of the various aspects of the Atlantic fishery. From lobster to cod, mussels to oysters, fishing techniques are explained and gear examined as we cycle along beaches and quaint fishing harbours, watching the local fleet unloads its daily catch. (We even give you a chance to sample our famous Aspy Bay oysters.) Our most popular off-road tour is our all day Bike Hike to Nova Scotia’s northernmost lighthouse, which combines double-track ridge riding with a steep down-and-up hike to wonderful oceanside meadows, seals, whales and the lighthouse itself.
